#JoinTheHerd became a rallying call to the fastest growing, most influential global community 
on the Internet. It gave disparate elephant welfare groups and anti-ivory campaigners a common language through which to lobby governments and mobilise the public support. It brought about legislation change in three countries and led to the burning of the largest ivory stockpile in history.
